Cost of Firecrackers

Hello friends,

I live in Chennai TN and here the cost of crackers as compared to the MRP printed on the boxes is very low. If the MRP printed is around 150 - 250 the selling price comes around 40 - 55 like that only, then my obvious question is if the selling price is so less with profit then why do the cracker companies put so much MRP on Firecrackers. So thought to post this in this thread and see that how much you pay as compared to MRP in your area. Because obviously there might be some far flung areas in India where crackers might be rare and might be sold at the MRP.

And as per my experience even in Aurngabad ( Maharashtra) they sell firecrackers at damm cheap rates than MRP, so for outsiders it is advised that dont ever buy the crackers by MRP else you will be cheated Big time.

And if you go by the price of MRP a simple sparkler costing 10 rs will cost you 130 rs.

Thanks for this input. I will ask my young who buy crackers for our home how it goes for them. But I have a feeling that in NCR the cost would be higher.

May be because its once in a year sale only.
Sellers all over the India try to make as much profit as they can.
I bought some Puhljhadi, rockets yesterday.
After a good bargain i payed half of MRP written and I am sure the seller still made a good profit.

Well, things are winding up slowly here. It was quite noisy last night, and all through the night, but tonight, in about an hour, it should cease to be separate bangs and all merge into one stream of noise.

I will be going up to the roof to take a look, though...

Lightbulb

I've got the brie out of the fridge. I'll have the crackers with it after the prawns.

Tiger prawns as well. I have a tomato sauce base, (one I made earlier), which I will spice a little to my desire, and serve with some pasta, al dente, of course.

Just tasting one of these whilst watching football
