cost of a taxi from margao to palolem

hi ,
heading to goa next week and will get a train straight to hampi for a few days - the plan then is to head to palolem. the place where i'm staying in palolem has offered to pick me up from margao for 1000 rupees which would be nice and easy - but is this a fair deal, i have no idea? thanks

i was wondering the same thing...how long will the journey take from margao to palolem by taxi? anyone know?

Just phoned my taxi driver friend and he said about 1 hour 10 minutes and 950 rupees. So you're about right.

Yes, you can get a bus from Margao to Palolem, cost should be somewhere around 10 - 20 Rs. You could get a train down to Canacona station and a autorickshaw from there, but it does not make much sense unless you are already at the station and notices that one is about to leave soon.
