A footwear company has apologised for displaying the sacred Hindu 'Om' symbol inside its sandals and withdrawn the offending product.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/3900163.stm I am not sure why companies bring in products that offend someone's religion. Not too distant in past, Harrods brought out underwear bearing images of Hindu goddesses. Then sometime back, someone tried to sell toilet tisssue papers with Goddess image on it. Harrods apology over Hindu bikinis http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/3790315.stm Toilet Seats Sport Hindu Gods http://www.hvk.org/articles/1100/129.html Inspite of repeated news it makes, any idea why manufacturers are inclined to do such things? |
