broken down in bangalore

due to a little dalliance with a Tata truck I am currently sporting a shin high cast, I'm to keep the cast on for a month (the time I have remaing in India and Nepal), but onwards and upwards I'm still determined to take my enfield up to Nepal via chennai, I have had to alter my original plans (I think the annapurna might have to wait for another day) but I'd love to know of any shanti mellow spots that a young immobile backpacker like myself could still eke out an enjoyable time in India, I'm defintily going to return to India so I'm not overly upset about having to alter my route, but now I would like to spend quality time in one spot, rather then the constant rigmarole of packing and moving (fine for the perfectly functioning bi-peds among us)

anyway any advice would be much appreciated

p.s (somewhere between chennai and nepal)

Is being "broken down in Bangalore" worse than being "busted flat in Baton Rouge" (apologies to Kris Kristofferson)?

I spent quite a lot of time in Puri and even without swimming, it's a good place to stay a while. Food's good, the Z Hotel is pleasant and not too expensive to stay awhile.
