Bomb Threats??
Hey all,
I was wondering wether the possibility of 'terrorist activities' on and around Indias independence day(Tue.15th August) as warned of by the U.S Embasy via an email to it's sites users should be taken seriously? I know we can only guess as to it's merits, and the Indian govt. has refused to credit the threats but....well....I land in Delhi on tuesday!! lol ..and with the airport being named as one of the possible locations for events to transpire, wondered what you guys and girls thoughts are on the subject... Thanks for any allayment of fears/excitement of my worry bone Full article to read; CLICK HERE |

If I were in India, I wouldn't worry about it any more than usual. There is always a threat of something happening some time, regardless of a government's warning. There's even a Bollywood movie about an attempted attack in Delhi on Independence Day ("Dil Se": Shah Rukh Khan prevents suicide bomber Manisha Koirala from attacking the Prime Minister; he hugs here, which detonates her explosive belt, and they alone are killed).
You should take the usual precations: avoiding crowded open spaces and big tourist-oriented hotels owned by international groups, varying your routines, traveling light and blending in. That's all you can do besides not traveling. |

I find such warnings helpful because it is so easy to forget what we are faced with. At the very least if nothing happens, it would be great. On the other hand a reminder helps us all take necessary precautrions. Stay safe
