Biggest (& scariest) decision of my life!!

I've sold my house and given up my job and am about to run off round the globe! Argh! Don't know whether to scream with excitement or cry with sheer panic and fear!!! India's my first stop and the place I plan to spend most of my time. Will no doubt be bombarding you all with questions very soon.

I'm terrified .... and getting cold feet about having taken this huge step!

Don't worry!
It may all seem daunting now, but once you're into the travelling you'll realise what a great choice you've made!
Have a wonderful trip.

you are not the only one here who has given up on the Western world and travel around the world. you will love it, enjoy it!

I do have one advice to give you though, keep some money for your return back home. The return is always very hard and you might need moral support as well as financial ( if you spend all your money) for a few months. But your journey will be fantastic!

hey don't worry... the indiamike community is there to support you in such a magnific transition!

you're afraid it's normal, and the closest you are from the leaving date the more afraid you will be ! trust me! I've given up my job, my flat and i'm leaving Paris for Mumbai next week without any precise return date!!!

the best is from my point of view to enjoy the time you have in your own country and prepare your trip around the world as much as possible... when are you leaving?

have a good trip

Ooooooh I'm envious - you are going to have a great time. I set off on a two year trip 7 years ago and it was the best, most exciting thing that I have ever done. The hardest part about it was returning - I don't think I ever recovered to be honest .... if it hadn't been for falling in love with someone upon my return I think I would have continued to travel. Oh well, everything happens for a reason.

Anyway... good luck and have fun!

Gosh! Another one!

Great Britain? Last one out please turn off the lights

You'll have a wonderful time, as will Dr F, as will Lotus Blossom, as will I, and all the others

But yes, it is scary. I know there will be tears as well as joy in my transition.

Mercedes10, congratulations on your trip!
It will be everything it's meant to be- I usually find fear is the greatest teacher. Follow your heart (sounds cliche, but true)!
I am inspired by you.
