Bad luck.

I've had terrible luck on this trip, my first to India.
First, Bad experience at an "Ashram" in UP

And now, one of my wisdom teeth is coming in.
Painfully.
I'll probably fly back to America tonight.

Have as good of a trip as possible. Just had one break off, a cap follows..

Aaww!!! You could get it fixed for fraction of the cost you would incur in NYC.

Anyways, let us know how much you pay for that one way ticket to NYC.

I would get it done here in Delhi, but my family is all based in the US, and they're concerned about complications occurring here.

What were you planning to get done in NYC ? Even a simple crown job costs >3K. If your folks back home are concerned and you are nervous, then by all means !!!

The wisdom tooth is impacted, and needs to be taken out.

I've never had a health problem while travelling. I'm now helplessly asking myself "why is this trip different than all other trips?"

Tell your family that worrying about complications is free: they are welcome to do as much they want. You have the rest of your trip to look forward to, and this, at worst, would only be a few days out.

Get your tooth removed here, by dentists as good as anywhere in the world. Complications? They can be treated here too, same comment applies. Just get yourself a comfortable AC room in which you can lie up for a couple of days while you get over the op --- and then get on with your trip

Will be geting the tooth fixed this week.
As posted above, I had REALLY severe delhi belly on the flight, and had to postpone the second part of my flight.
A four hour layover has turned into 2 weeks.
I fly back tomorrow.
