Australia need more spacifics
ask yourself this question, How many Australian people are india mike members????
14 days is a relatively short visit for a continent twice the size of india. Where will you land?? What are you interested in?? Will you be mixing business with pleasure?? Whatever the case you will only have a chance to touch the surface of our environment and culture. You need to be selective and clear about what want to see and do. please repost with more spacifics. ![]() |

Red-zen,
Australian Culture is sufficiently shallow that a visitor could walking on the bottom in two days - less jet lag. |

No offence intended to any Australian, the Aussie way from the eyes of an outsider (asian) can happily be translated to the drinking and the smoking way

I think people probably come to Australia to see the sights, rather than "experience the culture". Though I guess the culture is fairly different as well

Any time's good on the Gold Coast, it's always relatively warm there. August's winter but it should still be warm enough to go for a swim and so on, there's a drought on so rain shouldn't be too much of a problem
![]() There always seem to be tons of people out in the bars on the Gold Coast, never spent much time in them though to be honest, I am usually up there with family ![]() |

Hi Ali,
Hope you enjoy your trip Down Under. If you plan on visiting Melbourne a must see for you would be the Melbourne Cricket Ground (from previous posts I know you love your cricket!) Even better to come in summer (December-February) and catch some games there. And I'm sure you'd get a game or two with my cricket club!! With only 14 days, it doesn't give you long to hop down to Melbourne from the Gold Coast but I'm sure you'll love Queensland - beautiful beaches, perfect weather, plenty of night life. Have a wonderful trip, Cheers, Putty

Common you folks, LOL LOL, I cant speak for all Australia, but think Melbourne is a pretty exellent mixing pot of cultures from all over the world. I love the cultural divercity here, which includes a steadily growing assie/indian population. The Old image of the bronzed anglo beer drinking aussie is a small aspect of an emerging diverce population. So what is the average aussie these days, is rough or is rugged? Is he cultural and clean.
I dont know maybe those kind of folks live on the gold coast. Lets face is everybody but the native aboriginals is new to this land, Our culture is shallow because it's short. |
