I discovered fidget spinners quite recently. Does help kill time. At stations, while travelling etc., for me at least.

There's a really good deal at gearbest right now for this :
https://www.gearbest.com/novelty-toys/pp_624482.html

Just $0.99 + shipping (<$2). You'll have to hurry. They'll soon be sold out.

Use PayPal rather than a CC.

My wife wanted one. I got from Amazon. It has coloured lights and spins different patterns. That's pretty!

As a "time-pass," though, I'd rather have the internet

What, the cardboard-tube ones? It stopped working. they never worked for long, but they were wonderful while they lasted.

Somewhere, on a shelf, I've got a newer version, where coloured oil falls through a tube which can rotate. Forgot about that.

One can do different stuff with spinning coloured lights. As well as seeing them in the dark!

Deal gone unless Pay pal has a concession. Free shipping though. Have to mess with Pay pal. Their AI says I buy too much in India and therefore I am a terrorist..

I thought that nowadays such things are regarded in Russia as plots by the Pope to reestablish control over the Eastern Churches.

I saw this gadget for the first time recently; a daughter of a friend was fidgeting with it as we were chatting in the street. At the time, I thought, Wow, I want to get one too. But I did not bother.

Subliminal brainwashing. The faster it spins, the less people realise that they are watching a cross. Suddenly... they find themselves in church on a Sunday morning, wondering what they are doing there.

Either that, or obsessively adding/multiplying everything they see.

Dangerous stuff!

Why the Russian Media is against Fidget Spinners
source

'...condemned the device because it "makes a person impressionable for manipulation.” '

Mind you, this news report, though citing Newsweek, is from the Deseret News, an organ of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who no doubt put their own spin on the subject.
