Address / Post Code Help

I need to send a letter to the following address:

House No. 776, Gali Sangal Wali, Chowk Baba Sahib, Amritsar

Anyone know how I can find the post code / know what it is? Do I need to put everything listed above? Any idea how long it would take a letter to get there from the US? Unfortunately I have no phone or email for this person, whom I need to contact.

You can search for PIN codes here, but it requires knowing the name of the Post Office, which does not appear in the above address. The PIN code for the Amritsar Head Office is 143001, but if you search on Punjab and Amritsar, you will find that there are many post offices there.
But if that is the complete address, it should make it even if you don't put in the PIN code. It takes anywhere from 10 to 20 days for regular airmail to get delivered (US to India).

go to the indian postal service website and look up their pincode search link.

Put in amritsar and it will show you all the pincodes for amritsar, choose the one that is for your locality or some place close by. that should do the job.

Thanks for the help. He is right by the Golden Temple, so I will try the Golden Temple pin and see what happens.
