1st Meet in Delhi !!!
Just back from the meet at All American Diner, India Habitat Center.
It was a good cozy meet and no clubbing. We had a good time at the diner and then moved to food court in the same premises with most of us going for Thai food and Indian food. We discussed lot of topics..including Indian festivals, diversity in India, language, travel experiences, ..and onto Kids and education. Pics are on the way..they are all in radz's camera.and will be online in 12-16 hours from now(I hope)..... Thanks to all who came in and we are planning the next meet at my home.....Hmmm (blame it on my wife)... Thanks Suchitra, Gwen and Sonia. I'm sure this is going to grow.....into a big community. thanks to all who could make it and also to those who could not (tommorrow never dies). Also to few who came in but just walked past our table(s) few times. Thanks for the support cheers Vinay

So you resisted the urge to kidnap & torture tourists.
No complaints please, Vinay knows I'm joking. For those who are not aware, There was a very clever and malicious thread started on the thorn tree, it was implying that Vinay was some kind of monster, as usual, many TT members decided to 'kick' him when he was down, it was enough to probably put a few people off going to the meeting, and enough to keep plenty of people believing that "any Indian person wanting to help a tourist is up to no good" I'm pleased it went well Vinay, the people walking past the table were probably looking to see if you had horn's coming out of your ears. ![]() |

Thanks for trying - fear of locals is killing a friend of mine's trade and it ISN'T fair.
If we don't say what goes well, the 'scam' and bog all else posters will win the day - and won't the 'safe' multi nationals be happy about that!!

Vinay hope we more on comming months! ![]() "that "any Indian person wanting to help a tourist is up to no good" Just i would like to comment this one, whoever agrees the above thought, only for them i would like to tell onething. I had an excellent time yesterday, and some of my questions answered too... Like "what is that funny vegetable with very hard, unateable seeds..."
I hope there will be lots of other meetings, either in small or large groups. one thing was most unfair though... I was the only one who had to get up to go to work this morning !!! Thanks Vinay for organising. And don't worry for your french accent ![]() |
