The wonderland of nature, beauty and Mt Kanchenjunga
Ranadeepg,
When I was there the fooding and lodging rate was around Rs 500-550/person/night. That can differ based on the season and many other parameters. So in my opinion , pick up the phone and call to all the respective contacts of these places(You will get these mentioned in my TL) and talk with them directly.
Just a point of caution, June is not the best time to visit Sikkim... Eastern Himalaya recive heavy rainfall quite early (Probably 2nd Week of May) , if if the weather is not clear and all the places are surrounded by cloud , you might miss the views( Might a inspiring view of the Zuluk Loop, Or Mt K from Lungthang/Thanbi, The Valley View in Tukla, and many other things.)

Mithun da,,Its a great narration... I want to visit these places in May 2013.. After reading this, I am very much "BEKARAR" to visit as soon as possible... I have some query..(1) Can I go with my children? 12 years & 6 years old....(2) Please tell me lump-sum budget for this 10 days tour....(3) Which is the best season..? May or November? I know you mention somewhere that November is the best...But what about May? Thanks in ADVANCE..
Thanks Simroli.
Its surely possible with the kid with proper acclimatization in Zuluk.
Its difficult to give you a ballpark estimate as it will be depending upon so many parameters - Type of accomodation (Not every place have so many choice), Transportation , Season(In most of the places the price shoots up during festiv season) and your bergaining ability. If you want to know the charges they had taken from us , I can tell you.
I felt you will see a different place altogather in two different seasons. May will show you clody sky, some snow fall in some of the pathches , Rhodo ... And November will provide mostly cloudless , snowless place, with very very comfortable weather - but be aware of festive season , there will be madding crowd during Durga Puja and Dipawali.

Hi...
Amazing narration and awesome pictures...
I need some advice on Sikkim...Me and my husband have booked our tickets to NJP for October 7th-13th..we wanted to do North Sikkim and silk route...I have contacted a lot of travel companies for tour planning and packages via the references i got from the posts/threads at IM..but somehow I have been getting very high quotes (as high as Rs 39,000-Rs 40,000 per couple (train excluding) for 6 nights and 7 days trip pick and drop at NJP and that too not including the silk route..
please let me know if north Sikkim and silk route is not possible in 6 days? Also, what is the optimum cost for the trip..We do not wish to do any typical tourist destinations (we do not enjoy too much of crowded places and religious places)and I have a back problem so trekking and rough roads is a complete no for me...thanks a lot for your suggestions...

I want to know from you which is the better accomodation between Shanti Kunj and Kanchenjunga Mirror. Comparision decoration and location.

Though you have asked the question to mithun but with the due permission I am telling something as mithun is on tour right now.Decortion wise Shantikunj is the best place, but if you consider location and view then Kanchenjangha Mirror is slightly ahead than Shantikunj.
Soumik, tell one thing I think you also visit Rishyap, and I want to know from you which is the best hotel in risyap according to location, budget and Mt. K . view. I select Kanchanview Tourist Lodge. Is it right choice or any other which you suggest for me. Because you are the guru for me. And one more thing please tell me one car driver number for contract basis for 4 days accoring to budget and car condition.

Your selection is perfect, go ahead.Another hotel is Himalayan Hut,if you got the front side room this hotel is marvellous.Sonar Bangla also offers spectacular view but it is slight costly.
A new hotel came up named Suntec Resort, I booked this one for its view during Durga Puja 2012, but not able to go.Can check in net.

That I have to search. Mithun
Fabulous trip report. I’m mesmerized! (Both by your writing & photography skills) Hats off to you.
What I missed here only the intoxicating smell of trees and fresh air of that terrain and nothing else.
To anybody who can feel, it is better than a well edited movie.
Thank you again for reminding me about my sweet memories of Sikkim. (And keeping me in front of my laptop for 2 and ½ hours without taking break.)
