Details of Uttarey

I would recommend Swadens Hotel for few reasons.

1) The hospitality offered by Mr Purna Subba.
2) The coffee they prepare.
3) Every friday the 'Hath'(Weekly Market) set up just in front of Hotel Swaden, and one can easily spend the whole morning watching that.
4) The rooms are very very specious, even 4 persons can easily accommodate in a single room.

For honeymoon couple, I would suggest to book the cottages of Nagbeli Resort- Very well decorated , nice garden.

Travel time from few location

Pelling : 1 Hour
Geyzing : 1 hour 30 minutes
Dentam : 15-30 minutes
Chayataal : 1 hour
Kaluk : 1 Hour
Bermiok : 1 hour
Rinchenpong : 1.5 hours
Jorethang : 3 hours
NJP : 5-6 hours

Accommodation : Swadens Hotel : Mr Purna Subba :09733095527
Food : Excellent , Alu Paratha is superb , and the coffee they prepare is the ever best (Even better than the coffee at Old Baba Mandir )

ATM : Nearest ATM is at Pelling
Weather : The evenings are chilling

Market : There are few shops in Uttarey which is almost enough for almost everything you need.

Medical Unit : There is one small unit at Uttarey and one at Dentam

Hospitality : Excellent

I would definately recommend Uttarey for anyone who wont mind 4 KM walk and passionate about photography- Uttarey offers almost everything you needed for photography.

Mainbus waterfall trek is a must-do there.

Uttarey to Bermiok

We have started for Uttarey to Bermiok at 11:30 PM. It is hardly 30 KM stretch which normally takes about 1 hour.

Uttarey has a great tradition - they tie a Buddhist Scarf while leaving Uttarey to wish you a safe journey and all the happiness in your life - It is indeed a royal feelings.

Our first stop was at Singshore Bridge. It the second highest suspension bridge that connects two hills.

Our next stop was Dentam Cheese factory : Being a Saturday it was close by 12:00 AM

Our next stop was Hee Valley. Its a beautiful valley set up on the slope of the hill.

Our next destination was Chayatal. Where we had our lunch in the Govt resort just beside Chayatal. And the food was very very delicious. The rooms of the resort are good , though not very specious, but clean.

We finally reached Bermiok at 4:30 PM. The road from Uttarey to Bermiok was very very beautiful and I would recommend everyone to use exclusive vehicle for this route.

Yes Theyyam you are absolutely right. The place is just beside the lake Chayataal- which is an artificial lake , prepared by Hee- Bermiok tourism development corporation in association with the Sikkim Govt. On a clear day there will be a reflection of Mt Kanchenjunga and her associated peaks. The color of the water in the lake is dark green, and there were different plantation (Including cardamom) and flowers beside the lake.
