For the tour suggested by your agent the best I think should be around 58-60 k.

How much has he offered you? In case its about the same then I think its fine if not may I suggest you a company called www.indiaoffbeat.com? A friend of mine booked her trip through them and all she had to say was the guys know their job well.

The price offered to me was $400 per person without hotels, $650 if they book our hotels for us. The hotels they suggested are much nicer than I require, so I will likely book my own to save some money.

Edit: Thanks for the tip on offbeatindia, I just sent them an email to see what they would charge for a similar itinerary.

can't say much unless we know more about the package likes sort of car etc. still think just a rough calculation reveals that it should be more or less 300 $ per person for entire trip including all the charges.[i done the same thing when were fixing our trip for rajasthan with a travel agent].i might be wrong by few inches thats it but not that much ]just a small car will do rather going for a expensive car. let apart the hotels. of course money is a matter for all of us. never go with first, ask few others as well.compare their prices, give a think and have a go with best.

hope it helps.
