Hi ,
Before I always travel to India I always visit India Mike.

I think it must be my age or something but I find it harder to navigate around the site these days

Can anyone recommend any temple / places of interest for me to visit on my way over a period of 3 days, leaving from Madurai travelling to Kottayam during the first week in March this year.

I shall be travelling across the mountains on to Tekkedy and then onto Kottayam.

Any advice most welcome.
TonyH.

Do you mean another place apart from Thekkedy in between Madurai and Kottayam?

Visit to India

Dear Brother Arrosh .
Thank you for your reply.
I shall be leaving Madurai on the Monday and would like to arrive in Kottyam on the Thursday evening. I would like to take the workers boat on Friday morning to Alleppy. A trip I have done a few times.
I would once again like to stay in Tekkedy, albeit have not yet booked the hotel I normally stay in as I am not sure what day I shall get there, just yet.
Leaving Madurai on the Monday I shall be travelling by car all the way to Kottyam so have a 3/4 day journey. and thought I would like to visit places of interest on the way.
This will be a journey I have taken many times but on the back of a Bullit Motorcycle, up and over the mountains. Never seemed to have time for sightseeing`.
Thank you.
TonyH

Visit to India

Thanks for information.
Coutallam... The Spar of South India.
Will research exactly where it is.

The Journey from Madurai to Kottyam could , if I recall, be done in one long day. As I have 3/4 days to sightsee on this journey then going off rout as it were will not a problem
Thank you .

Instead of en route through Thekkady consider a ride to Kanyakumari and then to Kottayam through the coastal area.

Visiting India again

Thank you for your replies.

Ego convenient cum illud.

Have travelled south to Kanyakumari many times on the east from Madurai.
Then north to Trivandrum where I always stay for a week on Kovalam Beach to rest and unwind.
This trip I am staying in Allepy then onto Cochin for a day. After that back to Trivandrum and then to Kovalam.
This way round I need to cross the mountains which I always enjoy.

Thanks
TonyH

Was there .. had some modest overnight rain .. then two foot river running down the street .. Courtallam can be too much fun in monsoon.
The walks above are probably a bit too tricky in monsoon.
