Thumbs up Udaipur to Jodhpur

I've been researching ways to get from Udaipur to Jodhpur. I'm concluded that there is no direct train unless I go to Jaipur (which I don't want to do).

Does anyone know of bus service that does this journey. If so, where can I get more information?

Cheers,

Naren

Scroll down to the very bottom of this page and see 'similar threads'.

You could also get a daytime train to Ajmer (close to Pushkar), then another daytime train the following day to Jodhpur.

Or if you wanted to visit Mt Abu, you could then get a train to Jodhpur from Abu Rd station.

Or if you wanted to visit Kumbalgarh or Ranakpur, you could then get a train from Falna to Jodhpur (though a taxi from Udaipur to Jodhpur seems perfect for visiting Kumbalgarh and Ranakpur).

Right. And if you leave early you could even do it in one day.

Private bus to Jodhpur

I just took a private bus from Udaipur to Jodhpur, which I booked through a travel agent in Udaipur. Cost was Rs. 160. Bus left at 8AM and arrived in Jodhpur at 2PM. Wasn't soooo bad, but they kept stopping to p/u passengers along the way.

It's easy to book a day or two ahead at any of the travel agencies in town.

So Jodhpur - Udaipur should be no problem too?
Do you know if the travel agency can be found online too?

I don't think so, these are very small agencies. There are many busses, day and night. We took a day bus which was half full, so don't worry you can find one.
