Travelling Around India By Motorbike

Hi, we are wanting to travel around india by motorbike. Could anyone please advise me if its more cost effective to hire a motorbike or to buy one and then sell it back on. How easy is it to sell the bikes back on and whats the average cost of a decent Royal Enfield (they seem to be the bikes that everyone is using over there!) We are on a budget so dont want to spend too much.

Hi Alex

I rented 4 bikes from Soni Motors earlier this year and rode with 3 others, route, Delhi - Manali - Leh - Srinagar - Delhi. We had no major problems with the bikes and we hired them at a reasonable rate with a low deposit.
