| Transportation around Leh I am an American who is going to Leh in August. I want to see not just Leh, but also the Ladakh region as a whole. I want to venture outside the town and see gompas, Pangong Lake, etc. What are my best bets when it comes to transportation? Can I rent out a motorbike/minibike (I don't have a International licence though)? Do they have any tour vans, taxis or can you rent a car w/ driver for the day? How much would that be? Thanks a lot!!! |

| You can easily get motorcycles on rent in Leh, though to legally ride in India, you will need international driving permit. There are plenty of tour operators which organize tours and you can also rent taxis for the entire day. |
