Taxi with driver ex Delhi (a recommendation)

Agreed: the best way to choose a taxi with driver is to make at least a half-ay test before. Anyway if you just have a fortnight to spend for your holidays (as we had), one or two days for testing is just a waste.

So I booked my car months ahead. I contacted a couple of enterprises, gave them my itinerary and received their offers. My choice fell on JCR Travel Services,B-5, Shivalik. Malviya Nager, New Delhi -110017. (eonindia@yahoo.com) http://www.discount-hotels-delhi.com/

I clearified the conditions by fixing them from the very beginning (by exchanging emails). We agreed to pay 50% on the first day of the trip, and the rest afterwards. As requested we could pay the sum in Euro (my home currency) with an exchange rate for a fixed day.

The services of JCR proved to be reliable and trustworthy. Although the fuel prices had two hikes between my booking and the trip, there wasn`t even the test to "modify" the fixed price.

The car was in good trim and cleaned daily. Our driver Bikram was friendly, well-mannered and never ever tried to go the commission way. Even when we stopped at handicraft shops he stayed outside with the car. He was always in good time, very reliable and trustworthy. And not to forget: his driving style was very moderated, as safe as you can be on Indian roads.

The car we had was a Toyota Qualis aircon. The price was 32.000 Rps for a time of 14 days on unlimited-milage basis. Actually we drove app 2.800 km on the route Delhi-Jaipur-Pushkar-Jodhpur-Jaisalmer-Rohet-Udaipur-Chittogarh-Jaipur-Delhi incl.some excursions. Tis price encompasses all expenses ( tolls, parking fees, night allowance, and so on), there were no hidden costs.

So I can say that JCR gave a highly satisfactory service. Anyway you should remember that prices depend on the season ( we travelled at the end of monsoon) and the prices of fuel.
