Taxi / Driver from Trichy to Cochin and Trivandrum

We will arrive in Trichy from Malaysia and 2 days later will depart from Trivandrum to Dubai.
I would like to get a taxi / driver to make the trip from Trichy to Cochin (first day) and then to make the trip from Cochin to Trivandrum (second day).
What should be the reasonable charges that can be paid for taxi / driver for these trips?

Thanks

You would have to pay for the return fare also.

Trichy to Cochin is around 400 kms. If you take a non a/c Tata Indica they would charge you around Rs 7/- to Rs 8/- per kilometer. So you would be paying for 800*7 or 800*8

Cochin to Trivandrum is around 225 kms. The same would be applicable here also.

Why not consider travelling by train.

For trains check www.erail.in

Thus, the cheapest way is by train (Trichy-Trivandrum, departure 01:05, arrival 11:05, Rs 2200 for 2 persons, class 1A).
So the first day will be devoted to sightseeing in Trichy, than overnight train to Trivandrum and the second day will be devoted to Trivandrum.
I think it's the best plan for 2 days.

That would be right. In Trichy you can see the Rock Fort Temple and the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple.

A few questions.
How many berths are in the same compartment Class 1A (Train 6123, Anantapuri Exp.)?
Have you any ideas how to spend 12 hours in Trivandrum and around?
City taxi in Trivandrum. How much does it cost?

In 1A there would be four berths in a compartment.

You would get a non AC Indica for 8 hr / 80 kms at around Rs 800/-. You would have to pay extra for extra kms over 80. You could also get a non AC Indica for 150 kms at around Rs 1400/-.

You can see the The Napier Museum (opens after 10:00 am till 5:00 pm, Monday closed), The Padmanabhapuram Palace around 65 kms from Trivandrum (opens after 9:00 am), Shanghumukham Beach (good for sunset)

Thank you!
We will arrive in Trichy early morning at 07:00. Train departs at 01:05, night time.
Could you recommend any hotel in Trichy, to leave luggage and for small 2-3 hour stop, evening time?

Hotel Ajanta seems better than Kalpana Lodge.
Could you recommend any hotel the same type in Trivandrum?
