how comfortable is this car? Is there decent space in the back seat to sit there for 5 hrs trip? or will one feel cramped?

It is a small car. But it is better than other small cars like the Maruti 800, Zen and is bit more robust than Hyundai Santro.

It is comfortable for an average built person.

how is luggage room?

It is a hatchback. You can definitely fit one big suitcase and a few smaller ones. I am not sure if you can fit two bigger ones in the back.

Negligable. Good for bringing home a couple of bags from the shops.

And no, it will not be better-built than any of the cars you mention. (well, maybe the 800).

It is a city runabout; not a touring car. It's fine for the day out if you do not have several people/heap of luggage, otherwise please choose something bigger.

The margin from an Indica to the next bigger thing won't be much. but may be money well spent.

On the other hand, if you are travelling alone, and reasonably light, (or happen to own one anyway, of course) then, fine!

In fact, if you are travelling alone, tell the driver you want to sit in the front; you'll get a much better view, and you can pile your stuff on the back seat.
