MSRTC AC Shivneri booking
MSRTC AC Shivneri booking
Hello all,
I recently travelled from Pune to Mumbai using AC Shivneri Bus services. I liked the service and buses a lot, especially that they have good seats in their buses.
The booking was difficult, I required the help of an indian colleague. The major challenge is that one has to know exactly the stops of the desired service, otherwise it cannot be identified on the portal.
Can anyone provide a trick how to book Shivneri tickets when only knowing the cities which are connected? Are there agencies who can help with the booking?

Check the MSRTC offical website - https://public.msrtcors.com/As a first time user you have to register first on their portal and need to create a user name and password which is a very simple process and then you can access their website and book you ticket online whenever you want. No need to go for any agent to book the ticket.
Through online booking you have the chooice for your seat as well as time and pick-up location also.
Cheers!!
Anil

I also did book the MSRTC tickets from this portal many times and never faced any problem. Just to add my experience in this thread.
I travel frequently from Mumbai to Pune by taking the first Volvo Shivneri bus in the morning on Mondays.
I take the bus from its Chembur stand near RK studios.
The bus timing from Dadar is 5:15 am and it reaches Chembur by 5:25am. It gets almost full at Dadar itself with hardly 7-8seats in the last rows left. This may be because many people travel from Mumbai to Pune for work after spending the weekend in Mumbai.
So for anyone who wants to take this bus without reservations from Chembur, I have a few tips:
Reach the stop about 10mins before the arrival time of the bus. There is a State Transport guy in full uniform "awake" who issues spot tickets when the bus arrives, insist on an informal handwritten token of preference which will allow you to confirm your seat in the bus subject to avalibility. The crowd builds up when the bus arrives and everyone rushes to get a ticket from the same guy. So having a priority token from him, is a good option.
Also keep the fare (Rs. 320) ready and your luggage handy.
The next bus is after 15-20min with a similar scenario. Too many people and too less seats.
The first bus from Mumbai reaches Pune station at 8:10am (pretty smoothly)It makes just one halt at Talegaon toll naka for 10min. I'm not confident of the places coming in the route but roughly the stops are Wakad, below Hinjewadi bridge, University road, Shivajinagar and Pune stn.
Hope this is of help to someone who wants to comfortably reach Pune as early as possible on Monday mornings.
