motorcycle from manali to leh

i'm arriving in manali in 10 days, and considering
different ways to get to leh.
(i'm travelling with a big bag, about 20 kg)
is it possible to rent a motorcycle + all related gear in manali
and ride it to leh?
what is the cost?
can i return it in leh, or only back in manali after i return?
how long is the ride?
is there a place to rest at night? (like a guesthouse?)

thanx!

Bring your own helmet, riding gloves and riding jacket. You won't find those in Manali.

As for motorcycle, there are plenty of options in Manali just spend a day there and find a motorcycle which you feel is in good condition. You can also get motorcycle for one way journey though it would be a little bit costlier.

One way bike rental to Leh

Yogesh,

I am planning to ride the Manali-Leh highway with a couple of friends (we're in Manali now, and will probably leave as soon as we have got our preparations sorted out). We have been trying to figure out if we can rent bikes one way.

You say that this is possible; what does it entail? Would we have to pay someone from the garage to get the bus to Leh, and then ride the bike back? Roughly how much would this cost?

Also, we've been quoted wildly varying prices for Bullet 350s - from 400 a day to 800. Would you be suspicious of a Bullet that was going for only 400 rs/day?

Cheers,

Paul

You could only find that in Delhi, Manali is way too costly for bike rent.
