Hi all,

I am planning a trip to Jaiselmer from Delhi. I am going via train from Delhi to Jaiselmer but having WL/41 so I am not sure what are the chances but anyways I am keeping my hope high and assumes it will be clear.

While returning I am not getting reservation from Jaiselmer instead getting an overnight train from Bikaner to Delhi.

Could you please advise me on travel options from JSM to Bikaner and is there anything to visit on the route or in Bikaner.

Please advise.

Can you give us date for both journeys, and class on trains?

Then we can see if WL41 might get confirmed.

Have you considered Barmer instead of Bikaner for getting back to Delhi?

Hi Steve,

25th Jan 2017 - Delhi to JSM 3rd AC (WL41)

as an alternative I have booked for 26th Jan (RAC7) since I want to utilize 26th holiday, travel on 25th is preferable.

I think WL41 is unlikely to get confirmed, especially at holiday time, but don't cancel, anything can happen.

Delhi to Barmer (same train, part of train splits at Jodhpur to go to Barmer) has availability in 3A on 25th, a bus from Barmer to Jaisalmer would get you to Jaisalmer only a couple of hours after the your train was due to arrive.

It may be worth looking at Barmer to Delhi options for the return journey, you should find availability.

There is the morning "express" train from Jaisalmere to Lalgargh Juction, just an auto ride from Bikaner. (I think it is "unreserved" seating, I don't recall being allocated a berth. )

The photo is from my journey on this train two years ago, where I am thrilling my fellow passengers with a description of my trip.

They seem to be totally engrossed in what you are recreating for them.. However I suspect, the more likely scenario to be a quick click through the window of the ladies compartment..

Now which one seems more likely - what do you think a poll would throw the verdict as..
Sar Pass Trek , Rohtang, Munnar, Badrinath Kedarnath, Vaishnodevi, Goa

I was in the same compartment, some of the menfolk were asleep in the overhead berths. I would not take a photo in the way you imply.

You can read about my full journey here: (2016 trip is first item, 2015 trip to Bikaner is in second item, scroll down about half the page.)

An option is to buy tickets from Delhi to Basni, the first station after Jodhpur in the direction of Barmer.
Leave the train in Jodhpur, there are plenty buses from there, see for an example.

Humour Ed, humour. We can see one man sitting by the window on the opposite side as well.
You didn't have to defend anything as no case was made in the first place.

Anyways I guess we can move on to the OPs query.
