Does anyone know when the new fuel injected 500cc Enfield will be available in the showrooms, and the cost--esp in Madras----thanks --Red

Here in aust the injected 500 is on the dealers floors, i was in Madras in feb and it was not available, just wondering if it is only an export model, or are there plans to sell it locally--- cheers --Red

i think it will be available from 2010 not completely sure though

are you talking abt the new unit-construction (all-in-one casings rather than separate engine/gearbox), fuel injection for emissions compliance and an electric start in addition to the still-present kickstart. it is expected around Jan-feb 2010 with a price of around 1.40 lac

this new bike kicks ass i will surely own one as soon as they are up for sale, i have a 1969 bullet now, just love it

it will create a turbulence in bike market i guess.......... i already know 10 peoples in my group who are dying to own it

From next year Emission norms are going to change, so they might launch this here as well.

Yes the unit construction model. Local bike magazine here has full test in their latest issue, and they are raving about it, which is quite surprising as the mighty bullet is normally looked upon as a bit of an oddity here, when comparing to, latest bmw, ducati, and all. They say the new 7 plate clutch, is very light and gearchanges are super smooth, Keihin 30mm throttle body delivers seamless engine response, and it was not straining at all whilst sitting on 100 kmh. Light and flickable handling, and very well balanced, high praise indeed, from western motorcycle journalist-- 140000 r's, they are 400000 on the road here, it should be good

I own Electra 5s and bought it this year only. Much satisfied with the bull.

But this new edition looks ultra cool man.

Any idea at what time around the year they will be launched ?

Anyone having price idea for DELHI ?

Bikes to me are something on two wheels that is used to move from place A to Place B. (same goes for car or other more wheeled vehicles, except that they save you from rain). So reading the title, I thought wow, now they have steroids for bikes that are injected and that too in Enfield, was it not already a monster? I remember somebody from old time who used to drive bullet and his height was around 4 ft 11. I always wondered how the hell he makes it possible as the bike had more weight, more height (or it seemed so), more length and more breadth than him.

The photos in the earlier post look really nice. Love the retro looks (although I suppose all Bullets are retro ... so this is retro-retro?). Almost worth moving back to India for.
