Finding a driver in Delhi's airport

Hi,

This is quite urgent as we take a flight to India in 3 days from today:
We (4 travelleres, 2 of them are 50+) will land in Delhi on Saturday, 5:00 am. We plan to go to Pushkar directly. The problem is that the next train leaves at 15:05. Therefore, we thought about finding a driver+car in the airport to take us to Pushkar. What do you think?

I made contact with an agency in Delhi and they offered a car for 300 USD (which is a lot). Will I find something better in the airport?

Thanks

What is the best way to go from Delhi to Jaipur ?

Thanks
You have to pay for the return trip whether you are in the car or not but $300 is too much
45Rps to the $ = 13500 Rps
Delhi- Jaipur is 3500 Rps appx
Jaipur -Ajmer is 1300 Rps appx

I don't know what you could get the full package for with one car & driver all the way but Delhi -Pushkar ought to be around half your quoted prices

**These rates I've quoted are for a small car with a couple of people. Obviously if you need a bigger car, more seats, then the prices will rise,,,,,,,,,

About the rates

Thanks for your answer. Are these the rates in the airport? Are they up to date? I also heard about 5-7 rs per km. Are you familiar with that? Also, can I get a car instantly?

Thanks

I came across this car hire company in Delhi while searching the internet. They've got prices on there as well. You could even try speaking to them on the phone.

I have not used this company, so cannot comment, but others migh have.

Hi,
Well none of my personal interest i took my car and driver from this person for a very nominal charge. You may call at 9810380796, I dont remember the name of person. You may give my reference "Ravi from Jangpura Extension, New Delhi who took only driver to Rajasthan in his Skoda car" he probably might recall from this. He would ask you for Rs.5/- per kilometre + Rs.100/- for Driver everyday. You may bargain and he would give you for Rs.4.50/- per kilometer + Rs.100/- for Driver. This would not sum up to more than US $ 100-120. You may contact me in case of any problems and i shall help you out any further. Sorry for being lengthy.

Yes absolutely you can arrange for a car directly from the airport, sort of. The prepaid booths will quote you a price and it will be very high. You can bargain outside the arrivals hall. As you need a car that is legally allowed to carry tourists across state borders and is insured for that purpose, you may well be taken someplace in one taxi to be transfered to another car with another driver. Though it can be un-nerving, it is not inappropriate, so don't freak out.
