Driving in delhi

Hi,

I have been driving in delhi for the past 45 days or so and I have noticed a trend almost everyone tends to drive with their HIGH beams on at night blinding the other drivers ... why ?

Probably visibility increases slightly with high beams if you are being blinded by them from the opposite direction so i guess it is like a chain.

yeah on a road where there is little to no traffic, and no street lights I understand it increases visibility but when the roads are packed then using high beams , I travel from delhi to gurgaon for work and coming back at night it is just terrible

to tell u the truth, this is the only thing i hate about Delhi traffic! but then again its the same in other parts of India as well. just use a high power bulb in ur bike/car and when ever u see a nut case using high beam for no reason, switch on ur high beam as well. most of bike/car owners will dim their lights!!!

Could it be very slightly better than not turning the lights on at all so as to save the battery and bulbs?

Do they know the difference between lights on and lights off?
Do they know there's a switch for main beam?
Solve half the problem by removing the offside lamp
Wear sunglasses and guess where you're going

Probably, the more you blind others, your visibility goes up

But what about others who drive their 4 wheelers (like a truck) with only one light on?
