delhi-jaipur-agra-khajuraho-varansi by hired car+driver

Yes, it sounds a huge journey by car.... This is exacly my question, has anyone done this journey by a hired car+driver? Is it worth doing or should we take the Khajuraho-Varanasi trip by plane? I know this plain trip would take only about 45min. But with all the hassles e.g. delaying plain, getting to the airport, is it still worth taking? How long is the ride by car?
Thanks so much!

khajuraho varanasi is about 400km. should take you about 7/8 hours without too many stops.

i would drive if i enjoy travelling long distance on indian roads.(which I do) otherwise, fly.

well i m not agree that i would take just 8 hours to get varanasi from khajuraho.the roads in madhya pradesh are not not good nad i think the have worst road in india.so better u take ur trip by car untill khajuraho.than take flight to varanasi.or take a night train from jhansi station to varanasi.that is best option.as i m also a driver so i know this route

Thank you for the quick reply. In that case I think I am not going to take the journey by car, as I will have to sit from Delhi-Jaipur-Agra-Khajuraho already, which will take about 23 hours, if my calculations are right. I counted with 40km/h as an average speed. Is that right?

I guess we will have to go by plane. Actually we have to get to Bombay from Varanasi, but I could not find a direct flight, only through Delhi, which is a headache, but this is life, isn't it? Would you know if there was a direct flight from Varanasi to Delhi?

Is it too hot? Do you think? I know it would be in the thirties in October, but hotter than that?

The Delhi-Jaipur and Jaipur -Agra highways are now much better and the 'normal' (neither too fast nor too slow) travel time on these two sectors would be 5hrs and 4 hrs respectively. Agra to Khujraho should be about 7 hrs but I have not done that stretch.
You are right about the tempratures in Oct. Happy touring.
