I am in Goa and have tried for a while to buy proper cycling shorts with padding the baggy type with pockets, but cannot get them anywhere, where can I get some if not in Goa, by mail order etc anywhere in India.

You can get baggy cycling shorts with padding?

The only padded ones I've ever seen, though I admit my serious cycling days are long over, are lycra.

Padded shorts are not necessary for everyday cycling, but when I used to go for 50km plus Sunday cycle rides, I definitely appreciated mine. The bottom line (pun intended) is that however long you can comfortably cycle without them, you can comfortably cycle far longer with them.

Still can't see it working with baggy shorts though, surely the padding would move around too much?

I personally could never use mine, I guess i'm sufficiently endowed in the gluteal department and yes they are lycra, can't imagine a baggy version, how would that work?!?
