Complete electrical failure on Bullet 500!

Thankyou, but the problem occurred when I put the petrol tank back on and the cable wasn't free to move underneath it.I keep all the cables well oiled and in a few weeks I will probably buy new accelerator/clutch/decompression cables just to keep everything running smoothly and use the old yet still good ones as spares if I need to.
How would much those cables cost in Delhi? Does anyone have a rough price?

"How much would these cables cost in Delhi?" Are you serious?-- you are riding the greatest motorcycle in the world, and it should be maintained regardless of cost--as the old saying goes if you have to ask you can't afford it--maybe you should sell it and get a donkey-- there are lots of parts on a motorcycle that are referred to as consumables and should be replaced as needed, if you don't replace them your bike doesn't go simple!!--tyres, cables, oil, filters, spark plug, and dare i say petrol--next you will be asking how many patches can you put on a tube before replacing it-- everyone has been helpful, now your just milking us, go for a long hard ride and tell us about some great places you have visited.

Bad idea, parts for donkeys are far more expensive, and they take a good deal of expertise to fit... ______________________________ ______________________________ _________________

Wow, that was some outburst
I am not sure if OP was really milking us, but, it was probably an innocent question about cable prices in Delhi. Give him the benefit of doubt especially since it is almost Christmas.

I don't seem to have an edit button on my post, but I went to a few shops and realised that cables are so cheap. They are around 55rs for a clutch cable and much less for an accelerator cable. I thought they would be a few hundred rupees which is why I was worried about getting ripped off.
I'm going to go to Delhi in a few days and buy parts. Should I take measurments of my current cables and take them in with me? Or if I tell the guy the model will be know the length? Or are all Bullet cables the same length on different models?

Good idea "crvlvr", that site and bhp, are good for the might we say more anal, requests--Ok once more cause it's xmas--from your bike photo your handlebars look like they may be a bit higher than standard bars, so take your existing cables for exact replacement, remembering longer cables can be made to work where as shorter ones, will never be long enough. Off the top of my head 55R's seems very cheap, as i said in one of my first posts about your bike, make sure you are buying "Original Enfield Parts", they come in a sealed plastic bag with "Enfield" written all over them in Red -- and often a sticker on them with the factory price printed, together with the part number. Don't assume what the spare parts man says is true, if possible always have an original part to cross reference with, which is why it is good (if you can) have your bike with you at the shop when buying spare parts. Maybe in 20 years things will be different but for now, when buying almost anything in India it is cavet, i can't remember the Latin, it is "Let the Buyer Beware". Remember no matter what anyone says You are a beautiful person, and you have a great motorbike, all the best for the christian festive season and happy motoring.
