Car rental in India

Hello,

During my trip to India, I want to rent a car (with a driver) to travel in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Can one of you suggest good rental companies? What are the typical rates for the rental (there will be about 5 of us)? The rental duration could be between 12 and 15 days.

What are the things to look out for? Most likely we will start the travel from Tiruchirapalli.

I wouldnt know about trichy but if you want a rental place in chennai then there are loads....if you want a imported car like a honda, toyota, mitsubishi or ford then you could go to the international chains like AVIS, Hertz etc

if you want other cars like a Ambassador or a Tata Sumo then you can approach an outfit called Bala Tourist Services which is on Kodambakkam High Road next to Valluvar Kottam in the nungambakkam Area of Chennai City.....prices usually vary upon the distance and not on the number of days....they charge per kilo meter....so its always good to check with your car rental before picking a car...also you are expected to give the driver some money everyday for his expenses such as lunch and dinner and tips....

Car rental ,dont know about Trichy,but i think Tamilnadu they have charge like this, upto 50km per km Rs3.90,after 50km Rs4.65 this is last June rate, may be it may they increase now.Still you get idea how it will be.
