By car from Mumbai to Karla & Bhaja Caves

I would like to know how long it approx. would take by car from Mumbai (e.g. Gate of India) to the Karla & Bhaja Caves in Lonavla. Is this an easy day trip? Another option would be Kanheri Caves north of Mumbai or (again) Elephanta Island. What do you think? Thanks a lot for your advice.

Karla & Bhaja Caves it took 4hrs To Lonawala and you cant cover as oneday trip,may be you can stay oneday at Lonawala then try both these caves.
Kanheri Caves as one day trip you can try.From Indiagate it will be 2.30hrs.(approximately)
But dont know with traffic you cant say how much it time it take .
Its really wonderful caves ,worth to see .

With an early morning 6 am start, you can reach Vashi (New Mumbai or Navi Mumbai) in an hour from "Gateway of India" (radz... indiagate is in Delhi! ). From there take the expressway upto Karla.... another hour. From here a half hour. So 2:30 hrs one way. Return journey thru traffic in the evening will be 3:30 or maybe 4:00 hours. Doing this in a single day is ok if your running some race... are you?

Same early morning start to Sanjay Gandhi Nat'l Park would be 1:15 or maybe 1:30 hrs. Return evening 2:00 hrs thru traffic. Good day trip.

Elephanta is 1:15 mins one way .... same sea traffic at all times.

Sanjai Gandhi national be ready for COOL ride road was bad .
