Question Buses Kannur to Mysore

I will be travelling from Kannur to Mysore/Srirangapatnam. I understand there are no direct trains so bus is the only option. Can anyone recommend the most comfortable, reliable etc bus company on this route?

Also I'm hoping to stay in Srirangapatnam ..........would I be able to get a Kannur - Bangalore bus doing this route to stop there? Or will I need to take bus from Kannur to Mysore and then switch to more local bus for Srirangapatnam?

Will later need to get from Srirangapatnam to Bangalore Airport .......any advice on best way to do this?

Thanks

1. Get to the main bus station at Kannur.
There are govt buses that ply to Mysore.
2. There is also a weekly overnight train to Bangalore from Kannur. Check the timings on www.srailway.com
From Bangalore you could take a train/bus to Mysore.
3. From Kannur proceed to Calicut. From Calicut, many private as well as govt. buses are available for Mysore. I know of one semi-luxury bus that leaves Calicut at 11.00 a.m.

Kannur to Bangalore busses go very close to Srirangapattinam, and hence you can actuall take an over night sleeper bus from Kannur to Bangalore (most comfortable as you have a berth), get the conductor to wake you up when you reach this spot. Catch a connecting bus an hour or so later to Srirangapattinam to complete the journey.

Only concern here is that you would reach this spot around 5am in the morning and hence, you would have to kill time a bit. But your bus agents would give you good tips on best options out.

For tickets, you can take any local bus going to the plaza (almost all busses going into the town goes there), and use any of the agencies in front of the 'City Center' shopping mall. There are about three sleeper busses and a couple of semi sleeper (sitting) busses.
