Bus from Munnar to Madurai?

Hi,

I am trying to figure out how to get from Munnar to Madurai on Aug 8th. I have found a few queues in the forum regarding transportation between the two locations, but nothing concrete.

I found another thread, which makes me think there IS a direct bus connecting Munnar and Madurai, but I haven't been able to find a specific schedule...

Any hints?

There is some information http://www.dtpcidukki.com/info.html, not sure how updated they are. There are more buses from Kumily than Munnar.

Hi!

I just came back from India and wanted to report my findings. There is one bus that connects Munnar to Madurai, and leave Munnar anytime between 12 and 12:30 pm (it seemed to be coming from somewhere else, and only stopped in Munnar for 5 minutes). The trip took 5 hours and costed 104 Rs/person as of Aug 2012.

As an alternative, we were told that there are hourly buses to Theni, and that from there it's easier to catch a bus to Madurai.

On a side note, keep some dramamine at hand for the first 2 hours of MANY very steep curves!
