bus cochin->goa?

Hi,I'm a newbie.Anyone know if it's possible to travel from cochin to goa by bus on 31/12/05?
Also any experience of Sukhsagar resort,Colva?

There are no direct buses from Cochin to Goa.
You can take an overnight bus to Mangalore and then catch another to Goa.
Try the trains, they are faster and more comfortable.

Thanks Prof.Trains are fully booked and we're on a tight schedule.Any ideas on hiring a car for a family of 5?

There is no direct bus from Cochin to Goa. As far as Sukhsagar resort is concerned it is a small no frills hotel about 5-10 minutes walk from the beach.

Have you tried for a ticket from Cochin to Mangalore?

If you still want to drive from Cochin to Goa; then the taxi fare could be anywhere between Rs. 5 (non ac) to Rs. 8.50 (ac) per km. The approximate distance would be 825 kms. Since the taxi would have to come back empty (sic) the taxi driver would insist that you pay him for 1650 kms. You will have to haggle with him.

Seems like it's an inactive thread now. Was wondering if there're any bus services from Fort Cochin to Goa?? Hopefully there are, if not, gonna book by train which I doubt there's availability for it. Will be reaching Goa on the 26/27th Nov 2011.

It will probably be a long ride if there are buses.

No bus service from Cochin. Take the train.

Trains are likely to be full this time. If trains are full take Sri Durgamba travels bus from Cochin(Ernakulam) to Mangalore and take the day time passenger train to Goa from Mangalore.

Else take rest in Mangalore and take an overnight bus from Ganesh Travels or Paulo Travels to Goa from Mangalore.
