>> Can tourists pay the Rupee fare on Deccan Airways? <<

Deccan Airways charges the same fare to foreign tourists as well as locals.

no differentiation with tourist and local price...the great thing about Air Deccan

I reckon with the number of inquiries about boats from mumbai to diu, if there was such a service, there is enough support from IM alone..heheeee

I flew from Diu to Bombay (via Porbander) this January on Jet Airways. Those under the age of 29 get a 25% discount. I can't remember the exact price of the ticket, but I'm sure it was under 4000 rps.

I agree with indiawise, Sunset Point is nothing spectacular. But Diu is chilled to the max!

Verawal to Diu....

cyberhippie, those must be the max. concession prices you've indicated. Otherwise the normal far mumbai bhavnagar is Rs. 1790. And the mumbai ahmedabad is Rs. 1900.

Yes on Air Deccan the air fare is same for Indian and tourists.

Verawal to Diu is 95 km. It takes about 3 hours by bus. There are a fair number of govt. buses, about 6 plying on this route daily. Besides one can get a private bus that leaves from the petrol station outside the govt. ST stand in Verawal. I’ll try to get the exact schedule and post it. There is a taxi stand outside the bus station and another bigger one, at the clock tower. As you step out the bus stand and turn left, the tower is about 300 meters down the road. The taxi ride is 2 hours and the taxi fare, which has gone up recently is about Rs. 750 to 850. if u r lucky u could get something lower from some taxi looking to head towards Una. If you have missed all possible buses to Diu, or you have a long wait, then take a bus to Una, and from there a rickshaw, about 40 minutes, about Rs.175 (the road is good now) to Diu.

Hi, how many months in advance can I book this route (or any route for that matter) to get the cheapest price? and also, are you aware of any fees to do with changing dates once you have booked. or is it completely inflexible?

thanks =)

From the Deccan airways website:

Rescheduling of the ticket is only possible ahead of 4 hours prior to flight departure. No change is possible within 4 hours of flight departure. Within 4 hours before departure, it is only possible to cancel the reservation. Rescheduling fee of Rs. 200 per passenger along with fare difference will be charged for any postponements/advancements.

Route changes are not permitted on any reservation.

Difference in Fares while Rescheduling
Since we are on DYNAFares, the differential fare will be collected as below.

If the applicable basic fare is more than the current basic fare, the difference amount will be charged to the passenger along with a Rescheduling Fee of Rs. 200 per passenger (either advance/postpone).

If the applicable basic fare is less than the current basic fare, the difference amount WILL NOT BE REFUNDED to the passenger and the Rescheduling Fee of Rs. 200 per passenger (either advance/postpone) will be charged.

AT ANY POINT OF TIME, THERE WILL NEVER BE A REFUND IF THE APPLICABLE BASIC FARE IS LESS THAN THE CURRENT BASIC FARE
