bike box (trivandrum)

hi all indian cyclists living in kerala, can anyone help me, i am running tight on time and need to acquire a bike box to ship my bike out of trivandrum by plane on sun 25th. does anyone have one or know where i can get one? My bike is 56cm tricross bike so any 56cm box or even 54cm will probably do

i guess there is bike shops in trivandrum but will they have boxes???

Get one made by a local carpenter, I dont think you might get any readymade boxes. Because in India all cover the bike by rags and pack it, no one uses boxes for cycle.

Hi Jason,

I'm now in Trivandrum and have a bike box (carton not wood), but will use it to move my bike to Pondi soon, so I can't spare it. However, here's how to get one.

There are quite a few bike stores now that sell bikes that ship in boxes and that can spare those boxes once those go on display in the shops. I know that as I got my box from a store that sold Merida bikes in Delhi. Unfortunately their website does not list a store in Kerala http://www.meridaindia.com/dealers.html

However, there are similar chains that might have those boxes to spare. See http://www.trackandtrail.in/dealer-locator.asp and http://www.firefoxbikes.com/station.htm and they seem to have a store in Ernakulam/ Cochin
