Bicycle travel, how safe/ practical is it?

Thank you for your reply.

Not so limited to a touring bike, a hybrid or a cc would do it to, as the plan is to go lightweight, with a low daily mileage, and then sell the trusty companion at the end of the road.

Among the cities above, ONly Delhi will have any range of decent bikes.

Look at the site in my previous post for dealer listings in Delhi. Can also try and look if pedalyatri.in has any listings.
