Trash put out by Shobe De might be your best bet. She is plenty smart enough not too take it too seriously..

what's wrong with the good ole' Krishnayan - by Dandekar ?

The name of the Maharastrian author in this context is impossible to believe ( Marathi Dandekar = Hindi Danda == English "staff" and so on ) but nevertheless completely true. I cdn't make this stuff up if I tried !

what exactly is a good sex book
do define pollock.
and while you're at it - include an explanation on the 'why' you want to read such a book.
have read your intro thread - and i kinda am presuming the explanation to the 'why' - but hey... do reiterate.

thank you.

Just yesterday there was an article in either the Deccan Chronicle or the Times of India about young hep women authors in India writing sometimes steamy fiction.

They called it 'chick lit'

I think its been called chiclit for a while... don't know. I think I have one or two books on the shelf that qualify. An author called Kathy Lette (?); steamy australian writing.

Maybe try "Smell" by Radhika Jha.

(Nick: Kathy Lette is hilarious. She is a comedian not a racy writer. I nearly fall off my chair reading her.)

I think the term chick lit came into prominence with Bridget Jones Diary.

recently read a book by an Indian female author Adyaita Kala. its called "Almost Single". Inspired by Bridget Jones..... Though nowhere near as good as the original, it has some hilarious moments.

Another book you could classify as being erotic is "The Alchemy of Desire" by Tarun J. Tejpal. It does not qualify since it was written by a guy. But it is seriously sexy and extremely well written. Very unusual book I think, since it treats several themes at once and with an aggressive masculine style at first; then half-way through is narrated by a historical (dead) female character. I can't explain this properly. Just read it! Plus, great descriptions of the Himalayas to boot.
