Firstly, Namaste to all. I'm new to the site (though I've been a visitor for sometime now).

OK, so there are a million books on India, from the search for enlightenment to the different cow names.

But if YOU were to write a book (or film or poem or article or absolutely anything) that is to capture your relationship with India, what would it be called?

It will definitely have the words 'trekking' and 'Himalayas' in it.

Though already written by Jawaharlal Nehru, the title of his book about India is my favourite.. "Bharat Ek Khoj", Discovery of India..

It would have to be called We Are Like This Only. One phrase that sums up the thousand and one daily contradictions, frustrations and annoyances of the country.

(Meant in an affectionate way, of course. I mean... what other nation on earth could have devised the system of waiting lists, RAC, tatkal and quotas when all you want to do is get on a train and get from A to B? )

So, how much are you paying for a good title?

You could try the simple: "India, the Time Within the Time Within".

Or: "India, the Time Within Without Time".

More complex: India. Time Within the Time Without Time" with the subtitle "The First 5000 Years are the Hardest".

Or you could play it safe with: "India, the Land of Mukesh. Prakash, Raju and Babu".

nice thought

Very nice topic!

My book wouldn't have a title. Just like the photo album images in the Harry Potter movies, my book would gently nod its head...wobble wobble wobble...

It would fly off the shelves...

(( just saw the previous post saying the same thing (head nod) a nanosecond before I clicked to reply!))
