What's this song?

Hi,

I heard this outside a temple in Pondicherry a while back.
I can't get it out of my head, maybe somebody can tell me what is is. Quality is poor but if you know it then you should be ablt to tell.

It's a bhajan.

Not entirely sure, but that's my guess

Well, like Nick-H had mentioned it is a bhajan. Actually a bhajan for Ganapathy. I plugged in the repetitive "namoh namoh" from your audio and I found a close match. Since you heard it in Pondy, it is a south indian version. Here is a close match of someone lip-synching to the hindi version of similar sounding song. Let us know if it is close; then the actual song could be found.

Definitely on the right track, the tune sounds the same as my recording (no idea about the words though)
Thanks for the replies.

Its an ode to Ganesha. The very same record plays after puja here in my home Ganesha temple. Daily. So its really stuck in my head too. I can look at the album cover I suppose.
