They remain invisible to the naked eye but you cannot wish away their existence. They have mastered the art of maintaining a low profile until the time is ripe – then they strike and leave you wondering how in the name of all that is holy did they ever break your cordon of defence that you have so carefully built all around you. Since time immemorial the under cover agents have wielded considerable clout, you can ignore them only at your peril. They require handling with kid gloves because if you take one false step, you will land up on the losing side. I am, reminded of ‘the spy who came in from the cold’ – it was a masterpiece in detailing how under cover agents operate. They have no friends, they trust no one and are gifted with uncanny powers to pre-empt attacks. The actors who take up these roles put their heart and soul into their performances and the final result leaves the audience spellbound.
There were some wonderful movies involving under cover agents – the most famous one being James Bond who made his debut in Dr. No. As usual, there were a host of clones both of British and American origins and a few Indian ones as well. While the former had ‘I mean serious business’ stamped all over them, the Indians took this opportunity to shoot in foreign locales and romp with the heroines in lush surroundings. The concept of under cover agents has changed and, today, any Tom, Dick or Harry can hide a spy cam on his person and, armed with a powerful tape recorder, can intercept conversation or capture on tape scenes that can create uncomfortable situations for celebrities. It has become a lucrative money spinning venture. But, all said and done, the most dangerous under cover agents are the ones that you find literally under the covers – like the bed bugs! They can give you sleepless nights.

Some of them even appear as messiahs with a vision - but with a hidden agenda - to destroy the spirit and fabric of a winning side.
India 2nd innings 3rd Test Mumbai - all out for 100 runs! Well Done! |

sadhuji reminds me of yoda. he just sits there and doesn't look he'll do much. but every so often, nothing but words of wisdom will come out of his mouth. he kinda reminds me of the dispatcher i had when i was a bike courier.
