Picked up the book "Ultimate Journey" by Richard Bernstein, and was quite impressed. It was an impulse purchase with no background info, but i liked the book a lot.
The author retraces the journey undertaken by chinese monk Hsuan Tsang through China, the silk route, afghnistan, pakistan and finally india. in 629 BC. interesting read, with a lot of references from Hsuan Tsang's original travelogue. some links: http://www.randomhouse.com/boldtype/0501/bernstein/ http://www.freshlimesoda.com/reviews...te_journey.htm |
