My goodness I LOVED that song out of all proportion when I saw BAH. I live about an hour out of the city, and spent the one hour drive singing khuda jaane at top of lungs (love how they release the cds before the film is released!).

I love Richie Havens and Tom Waits. I just purchased two CDs, one by Fats Domino and another by early Tina Turner- very famous and all but I'd never listened to either before. Certainly go for the Tina Turner if you like soul. Get the early stuff (with Ike) .

On iTunes, I just bought songs by Helvetia, Palace Music, Thelonious Monk and Stereolab.

discovered at a live gig yesterday in hamburg: angus & julia stone "a book like this" ...beautiful hippie-folk-songwriter stuff from australia... but i have to admit you have to see them on stage....the cd is good but lame compared to their live appearance... just perfect for heading off to mumbai tomorrow!
