Santana (why dont you and i) track
Since the moment I spotted you Like walking round with little wings on my shoes My stomach's filled with the butterflies...ooo and it's alright Bouncing round from cloud to cloud I got the feeling like I'm never going to come down If I said I didn't like it then you know I'd lied ooo Pink Floyd - Sorrow The sweet smell of a great sorrow lies over the land Plumes of smoke rise and merge into the leaden sky: A man lies and dreams of green fields and rivers, But awakes to a morning with no reason for waking

On the ipod today...
John Martyn - Solid Air "I don't want to know about evil, I only want to know about love...." and "May you never lay your head down without a hand to hold, may you never make your bed out in the cold. May you never loose your temper if you get hit in a bar-room fight, may you never loose your woman over night"

I was really hoping for a post like this...cool!!
Hi IMers...I'm in Heaven now..talking about music! I can't live without music! I don't know about you...and I know this is kinda corny....but i think of songs when having conversations...e.g. when certain words come up in the conversation, I hear play-back music in my mind using those words.
Anyhow, i love all types of music..from Carnatic music, western classical, trance, yah - country too , reggae, bollywood, tamil music, French, Italian, Russian folk songs.. list goes on...i have a huge collection back home...brought some here to my "new" home... ![]() Today, it's Delerium - Karma, Chimera - REALLY REALLY GOOD STUFF! Love all of Sarah Mc. stuff too. others, Enigma - Voyageur Chopin - piano classics...really miss the The Pianist soundtrack back home! Can't go wrong with the Buddha Bar, especially Claude Challe B-Tribe DJ Tiesto ...more later... i also like to listen to music while reading a good novel...kinda like my own "soundtrack"..

Ambika, Anuradha Paudwal's Gayathri Mantra still resonates in my ear! Love her voice!
I've got to get her Om Nama Shivaya..there's another artist (New age) that my cuz listens to..need to find out who it is...it's beautiful....a western take on it! Today, it's mani ratnam's soundtracks to the movies, Alaipayuthey and Kannathil Muthamittal |

ok..just called my cuz up, down south..and she said that Om Nama Shivaya was a rendition of Mataji's (hugging mother) original chanting by Mataji's ashram singers in a western style. I'll check out Deva Premal too. I'll have to start using the shlokas music box again..u know the kind that repeats the chanting..beautiful invention! Makes me feel like I'm in Guruvayur or one of the many temples I visited in Kerala. ahhhhh.... When I was in Chennai, visiting my fav. store - Landmark, I was listening to fusion shlokas overhead while shopping. can't remember the artist. Wish I wasn't in a hurry that day..'cuz I would have probably picked it up. I just checked out FunkaDesi's website. Thanks, Yogagal! I think I have heard them on one of the TV music channels. Cool!! ![]() |

ELO - Don't Bring Me Down, Mr. Blue Sky
Some Nepali pop, including this song called 'Japan Tokyo' that I can't get out of my head - it's got a nice Jawaiian ukulele-like sound to it that I like - also a song entitled 'Bhat Khanau' which I like because I can actually understand a lot of the words - it has to do with food, 'gundruk ko aachar', mmm... Kirby Shelstad - Mother of the Buddhas - 21 Tara Praises The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again Apache Indian - Om Namah Shivaya |

Yogagal and fromusawithluv there's another western take on it by Donna De Lory, her CD is called 'The lover and the Beloved'. There are other beautiful and quite well known chants on this one including Govinda Jaya Jay (which brings back so many memories for me from the Satsangas in the ashrams) and Hare Krishna. Check it out guys. Love to you both ![]() |
