I can't stop listening to the soundtrack from the movie - Joe Strummer The Future is Unwritten. Not just unreleased Clash, but all sorts of other from Nina Simone to Elvis... Great movie and great album!

Isn't that a beautiful beautiful gem of a movie? I loved it, my husband loved it, the 13year old son loved it.. I heard an interview with the director and apparently they fell in love for real, but not until about a year after they made the film..aaahhhhhh

I am listening Happy talk from South Pacific.

Happy talk, keep talking happy talk
Talk about things you like to do
You got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream
How you gonna have a dream come true?
Talk about the moon floating in the sky
Looking at a lily on the lake
Talk about a bird learning how to fly
Making all the music he can make!
Happy talk, keep talking happy talk
Talk about things you like to do
You got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream
How you come not have a dream come true?
Talk about the sparrow looking like a toy
Peeking through the branches of a tree
Talk about the girl, talk about the boy
Counting all the ripples on the sea
Happy talk, keep talking happy talk
Talk about things you like to do
You got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream
How you come not have a dream come true?
Talk about the boy saying to the girl
Golly, baby, I'm a lucky cuss
Talk about the girl saying to the boy
You an' me is lucky to be us
Happy talk, keep talking happy talk
Talk about things you like to do
You got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream
How you come not have a dream come true?
If you don't talk happy, and you never have dream
Then you'll never have a dream come true!
It's good idea, you like? Ah ah ah!

Wow! The effect of my Monday Syndrome has been greatly allayed by the superb beats of Taare Zameen Par. I did not know about this movie. It stars Aamir Khan! Can't wait to see it! All his movies are just amazing!

Here are the tracks from this upcoming movie. Listen to 'Kholo Kholo'. Refresher music and lyrics. Feeling like putting it on a big really big sound system and dancing like crazy with it. 'Jame Raho' is another cool track.

Excellent suggestion Amyl. Kholo Kholo is great. Bum Bum Bole is a fun song that got me wearing a smile this morning, even at work. And, it actually looks like it may be showing in my neck of the woods come Dec. 21!

you said Reggae.....where is it? where is it?

Just recently I have started looking for reggae...Enjoying the oldies and also discovering new ones. Am sure there are some more folks than just Bob and Shaggy. Will check out that Peace thing.

For now....Bally Shagoo is making some good friday evening music for me.

You betcha! Check out the early Trojan Records samplers (that's a record label). Burning Spear. Prince Far I. Linton Kwesi Johnson. Dr. Alimantado. The list goes and on and on... my tapes are not where this computer is, will jot down some further faves if I think of it.

On-U Sound, terrific later dub label. Dub Syndicate. African Head Charge. Creation Rebel. New Age Steppers. Dr. Pablo. Augustus Pablo (fabulous!). Scientist. Mad Professor. Tommy McCook. Lee Scratch Perry. (Lee Perry, yes, by all means. Saw him live a year or two ago. Fabulous, and still as mad as they come at age 72 now.) Not to mention all the fabulous punk crossovers of that time. The Clash and some of their work for that matter. Featuring Mikey Dread.

Mutabaruka. Oku Onuora. Steel Pulse. Aswad.

And on and on and on...
