I just picked up a Brian Silas CD - Haunting Indian Melodies. I have to give it a thumbs up! Sort of transports you quickly to an Indian 5-star lobby with the Piano man tickling the ivories for anyone who happens by - nice relaxing ambience.

Today on the way home from my beach holiday (of two days!) was listening to an oldie mixed by a friend of mine 'whipped cream and envelope' (those that live in london he was a dj at the bar 'dragon' in old street).
and now that i'm home and settling in on a sunday eve i'm playing 'a meeting by the river' which is a wonderful WONDERFUL piece of music performed by Ry Cooder and U.M Bhatt - those that are into indian/country/folk music i strongly recommend this. I was in Pushkar in 2000 and i walked passed a shop that was playing this, i stopped still, i closed my eyes and i just HAD to have it! |
