Probably listen to Billy Thorpe all day. He died of heart attack early this morning. He is an Oz rock legend.

The Grateful Dead... absolutely great! Also am hung on Roxy Music and Michael Hedges (with his mind-blowing Harp-Guitar)and in soul music... listen to a lot of Jai Uttal, Abida Parveen, Ma Deva Premal and occasionaly, Shobha Mudgal.

Hung around in a department store yesterday to listen to some cheesy cover versions of Mariah Carey's 'Heartbreaker' & Bob Marley's 'Could You Be Loved', which was nice.

I've had a musical day; got through six & a half albums. One was Boards of Canada's 'Trans Canada Highway'; only the second time I've put it on since I bought it several months ago. I recognised the first track from several TV shows or adverts it seems to have been featured in. Their style is a bit like Sigur Ros, only more.. sunny, sharper... I'll have to listen again.

Another I had on was a Woody Guthrie compilation & I just want to suggest one track for anyone who likes soulful, acoustic blues music (didn't realise I did until I heard this song). The name is 'Lost John (With Sonny)' - please give it a try!
