Don't Worry Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin

his whistling and his voice is soooo catchy......
and specially liked its video

btw YouTube taken over by Google some 1.3Billion....just a news ... Does not make any differnce to the site visiters anyway and luckily not even to the YouTube staff as there is no layoff because of this takeover

great way to start the day - thanks amyl. i love the three dancing guys, one which appeared to be robin williams, though i'm not positive.

today, instead of saying 'don't worry, be happy', people say "it's all good"...

is it...?

Pancharatna Krithis
Artist - Maharajapuram Santhanam
Carnatic Genre

five compositions in telugu in ragas natai, sri, gaula, arabhi and varali of tygaraja are considered as pancha (five) + ratna (gems) in the carnatic genre~ and every musician dead/alive in this genre has performed this either in the studio, concerts wherever. tygaraja's life and his works are celebrated in annual festival at his birthplace near thanjavur (tanjore) in a village called tiruvaiyaru on the banks of river cauvery...and many if not most of the artists, both instrumentalists and vocalists in the carnatic genre assemble in a stage for a group rendition of his compositions..

the composition in raga varali in this five gems is never taught by a teacher supposedly because of some legends and beliefs. varali is a raga that needs to self taught...supposedly it destroys the student-teacher relationship, its inauspicious to teach it, while others says that it inspires the kundalini..seen people using the word death in some places from teaching... ..oh well~

If you're ever in an Indian state of mind, anything by Anoushka Shankar (daughter of Ravi) is good stuff. Love the sitar sound and her music doesn't have as much of the fast tka, tka, tka, tka vocal sound a lot of Indian music has. I'm sure a lot of people know what I'm talking about. She combines the basic sitar and tabla sound in a bluezzy sort of way. I can listen to it for hours as I look at pictures of places in India...

Thanks! I wish I could but I don't know how (upload a bigger picture) It's Ghandrung village and Annupurna South in Nepal. I saw it as I was websurfing and it's captured my imagination ever since. Well, who am I kidding? I'm obsessed with it and at some point have to go there!
