Hey, i thought i was the only Boz Scaggs fan, see him here with the late great Jeff Porcaro of Toto. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afBdFyE7PeE Fantastic. Boss Scaggs worked a lot with Toto and Chicago, great voice and songs. Silk Degrees was a brilliant piece of work. And still preforming.

It's starting to really warm up here in Sydney, and that means I listening to easy tunes. At the moment Mason Jennings, Josh Rouse, and any thing soft is dominating my .mp3 player. I high recommend people to download Cruiser by the Red House Painters. The most easiest, relaxing tune I could imagine.

Mangalam Sloka
T.M. Krishna
Album:- Kshetra Tirupati

tm krishna is a young artist in the carnatic vocal genre.

mangalam is the concluding one minute piece, a verse that is sung in almost every carnatic genre concert/every bharatnatyam (dance) concert/every temple ritual/every traditional devotional ritual.

it is usually set to ragas sourashtram, madhyamavathi, sri or surutti and is 'continued' without a pause after the end of the penultimate song

what is it mean?..its a thankful prayer, invoke blessings from god for humanity, for peace/prosperity. in this particular piece, krishna sings a sanskrit verse on/for lord srinivasa (venkateshwara) of tirupati.

Duet
Raag Sindhu Bhairavi

Ethereal Duet
Raag Jog

both by

Ustad Ali Akbar Khan [Sarod] & L. Subramanium [Violin]
Accompanists: Zakir Hussein [Tabla] & Ramnad Raghavan [ Mridangam]

beautiful, the instruments mesh well~ hindustani/carnatic genre fusions here, l subramanium blends and crossesover with ustad in the sarod..mellow and nice
